Gangs In The Community
In the communities of Chicago there’s a lot of gang violence that is affecting a lot of communities. Gang violence affects the people that live in the community and young adults. Some people that have been victims of gang violence have been continued to be victims. A lot of residents in Chicago want change in their community. In Chicago gang violence leads to high rates of crimes, school drop outs, violence and drug addiction in the community.
Gang violence has led to higher rate of crime that has effect a lot of people in the communities in the city of Chicago. Rates of crimes have impacted a lot of residents of Chicago. There’s a lot of family that have been victims involved in a crime and that has effect family. Gang members also significantly increased the likely hood that the juvenile will own and carry a fire armed (Bjerrgoard & Lizotte, 1995). People that have become gang member are always more likely to carry a fire arm then a regular person and be selling drugs even they are more likely to be killed or end up in prison. There have been a lot of people that have been charged with murder or other criminal charges. The communities have a lot of violence. The people that live in the community are scared to make a change to make a difference because they are scared that the gang members might do something to them or something to their own family so that’s why sometimes people don’t do justice because they’re scared. The person that turns into a gang member is always at risk to be in danger of shooting or killing a rival gang member. Sometimes they are forced even though they turn into a gang member they are forced to commit a crime. The person that turns gang member are always in jail or killed by other rival gangs. They all get killed for fighting for streets, gangs, money, and drugs. This is what causes the gang rates in communities of Chicago. There has been a lot of gangs and a lot of gang crimes in Chicago. Gang crime increases because of enforcement in different communities. My evidence is important because there is evidence of how that is affecting the Chicago area. This has affect the residents of Chicago and a lot of family members.
School drop outs have affected a lot of students in the community due to gang rates. A lot of young adults are being influenced by gang members. The United States has seen a steady increase in gang activity. School drop outs and the fear of gang crime during the last two decades (Lane Meeker, 2003). Communities decline model predict that fear is a result of residents concern that the community is undergoing to change and is less safe now ( Lane Meeker, 2003). This evidence is important because there’s a lot of school drop outs and people could make a change if they don’t let the gang violence influence them and just do what its best for them.
Gang violence has affect communities and people from the community. Studies exist in public wealth and kinerlogy that document how fear of crime linked to their perception of disorder affects people (Lane Meeker 2003). Living in our neighborhood with high physical and or social disorders generates streets and fear. This is important because people have fear a lot of different situations that people don’t want to deal with because of danger and how neighborhoods are with violence.
Drug addiction is a big problem in the community because a lot of people see other people in the community that does drugs and that influence them to do same thing as other. Chicago gang problem requires the (CPD) Chicago Police Department to adopt more proactive anti- gang measure that when beyond short term reaction to specific incent (Lemmer & Lurigion 2008). In response to the city in violence crime during the early 1990’s in April, 1993 the CPD embarrassed upon one of its most comprehensive restructuring effort Chicago’s alternative Policy strategy (Lemmer & Bangger, 2003). This evidence is important because drugs affect a lot of people and has effective a lot of peoples life and they get addicted to drugs.
Gang violence has been an issue in the community of Chicago people been victims of gang violence and they always have been victims of violence or they had family that have been a victim of gang violence. The little village gang violence reduction project in Chicago represent an interorganization and community approach to the youth gang problem in its most violent form (spergel & Grossman,2003). An effective approach to youth gangs problem was develop in Philadelphia during the early 1970’s (spergel & Grossmen). This evidence is important because people could know what they are doing or they don’t know what is going with their community. The community could make a change if they all get all together.
This topic connects to me because I have been of gang violence and I have lived in the community with gang violence. I been in gang violence because gang members don’t know me and they think I’m a rival gang member which im not involve in gangs. So everywhere I go I go I get stereotype with the gang members. People in this community don’t want to make a change because they are scared of the gang that are in there community even though they could make a change which they are scared. The bigger picture is that people in the community are being victims of violence and some people cannot even go out to have fun because of gang issues in the community. This issue matters because a lot of people in the community are scared to come outside to make a change in their community because of they are afraid that gang members might do something to them if they do something against gang members.
